Jesper Svensson Triumphs at 2024 Storm Lucky Larsen Masters in Sweden
Svensson Secures 12th Career PBA Tour Title on Home Soil
Swedish bowling star Jesper Svensson claimed victory at the 2024 Storm Lucky Larsen Masters, held at Olympia Bowling in Helsingborg, Sweden. In an intense title match, Svensson defeated compatriot Teodor Samuelsson, 257-238, securing his 12th career PBA Tour title and achieving redemption after a heartbreaking loss in the same tournament last year.
A Long-Awaited Victory on Home Turf
Svensson, a seasoned competitor with numerous accolades in the United States, emphasized the significance of this win in his home country.
“Even though I’ve played a lot of big tournaments in the U.S., this is the one I really wanted to win,” Svensson said. “I don’t know how to put it into words right now. I’m unbelievably proud of myself. It’s truly special.”
The Swedish star dominated the final match, starting with seven consecutive strikes. Despite a strong performance from Samuelsson, who had a potential maximum score of 280, the match turned in Svensson’s favor when Samuelsson left a 7-pin in the eighth frame.
Svensson had a chance to close out the match in the 10th frame but left another light 10-pin, allowing Samuelsson a final opportunity to claim his first career PBA Tour title. However, the 10-pin denied Samuelsson once again, sealing Svensson’s long-awaited victory.
“Lady luck was on my side tonight. I’m very thankful,” Svensson said.
A Journey Through the Tournament
Svensson’s road to the title included a victory over tournament namesake Martin Larsen in the all-Swedish semifinal, while Samuelsson defeated top-seeded James Blomgren to reach the final.
In the Round of 16, Svensson defeated Arnar Jonsson (699-623), followed by a quarterfinal win over Mario Del Gaudio (687-658). His semifinal match against Larsen was a close contest, ending in a 257-255 victory.

A Strong Finish to the 2024 PBA Tour Season
With this win, Svensson ended his title drought, marking his first PBA Tour victory since February 2022. The triumph brought him 16,000 SEK (approximately $15,660 USD) in prize money and solidified his place among Sweden’s most accomplished bowlers.
