Karsyn Lukosius Repeats as Champion at 2025 PWBA Eastern Pennsylvania Regional

Another Victory, Another Milestone

Karsyn Lukosius of Freehold, New Jersey, added another impressive accomplishment to her growing bowling résumé on Saturday, April 12, as she successfully defended her title at the 2025 PWBA Eastern Pennsylvania Regional. The event, hosted at Steel City Bowl and Brews in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, saw Lukosius once again rise to the top, showcasing poise, power, and consistency in a competitive field of 54 players.

Her victory in the stepladder finals—defeating Mallory Clark of Lewiston, Maine, 225–182—not only earned her a $1,900 first-place prize but also marked her fourth career PWBA regional title.

Qualifying Round: Dominance Despite a Setback

Lukosius started the day strong during the eight-game qualifying block, posting high scores such as 267, 234, and 268. She averaged an impressive 224.13, finishing with a total pinfall of 1,793 to claim the top seed heading into the stepladder finals.

However, not everything went smoothly. In Game 7 of qualifying, she hit a low point with a 158, nearly putting her stepladder spot in jeopardy.

“I always seem to do that,” Lukosius reflected. “I always have that one bad game, but I never let it affect me. I fully take responsibility for that one.”

Her response? A massive 268 in Game 8, bouncing back with fury.

“I shot 260 because I was mad,” she laughed.

Stepladder Finals: Road to the Championship

The stepladder portion began with Mallory Clark taking on the No. 3 seed Jennifer Russo of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. Clark won convincingly, 244–206.

She then faced No. 2 seed Courtney Parenteau of West Warwick, Rhode Island, defeating her 222–206 to advance to the title match.

But Lukosius, well-rested and ready, unleashed eight strikes in the championship game to seal a 225–182 victory.

Clark earned $1,000 for her second-place finish. Parenteau walked away with $700, and Russo collected $500 for finishing fourth.

A Streak of Consistency and Confidence

Lukosius’ latest win continues an incredible streak—she has reached the championship match in all seven PWBA Regional tournaments she’s entered since last season. That kind of consistency is rare in any sport, let alone one as mentally demanding as competitive bowling.

Yet despite the pressure, Lukosius remains grounded.

“I don’t really feel pressure or put pressure on myself,” she explained. “Bowling is so fun for me right now. Every tournament I go to, I’m just happy to be there, happy to be healthy and having fun.”

Even more remarkable is the fact that Lukosius does not bowl full-time. Unlike many of her peers, she balances competition with other responsibilities.

Looking Ahead: A Shot at Redemption

With the Eastern Pennsylvania title secured, Lukosius now qualifies for the 2025 PWBA Regional Showdown, scheduled for December 4–6 at Airport Lanes in Sanford, Florida. The event gathers the season’s top PWBA Regional champions for match-play competition and a shot at valuable rewards:

Last year, Lukosius finished second in the Showdown. She’s looking forward to the opportunity to compete again at the season finale.

“If the pins cooperate and things go my way like they did today, great. If not, I’ll just keep working and moving forward,” she said.
